Mango Yogurt Drink (India)
Yogurt is a very important food in India. Instead of buying it in a container at the supermarket, people make their own yogurt from fresh, whole milk. Yogurt is the main ingredient in lassi, a cold, frothy drink good for sipping on hot summer days. Lassi can be sweet, salty or spicy. The recipe here is for lassi flavored with mango, known in India as the “king of fruits.”
Ingredients
1 cup yogurt
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 cup mango (fresh or canned)
6 ice cubes
Equipment you will need
measuring cup
measuring spoons
blender
Put all the ingredients in the jar of a blender. Cover and blend for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the ice has been chopped into very small pieces. Drink right away while lassi is cold and frothy.
